Wondering where to get gear? See the GET GEAR section at the bottom of this page.
Deck shoes are clean sandals that are ONLY worn inside the pool. They may not be worn outside at any time.
Swimmers must change into their deck shoes before entering, and upon leaving, the locker room. No bare feet or street shoes are allowed in the locker rooms. The BX carries inexpensive flip-flops near the slippers in the shoe department.
This pool requirement is mandated by the Italian health authority and is standard procedure at most indoor pools in Europe. It is an important part of maintaining a healthy relationship with our pool as well as a sanitary environment.
Why are deck shoes important for health reasons? READ MORE HERE
If your swimmer forgets their shoes, we have a few pairs in each shoe room to borrow for the day.
During Spring and Summer, the Sea Dragons may practice at different times or locations.
When school is in session, the Sea Dragons practice at our home pool in Aviano. Practice runs from 15:00-16:45. Please see the registration information for specifics about what time your swimmer will be done each day.
Our coaching staff will determine the appropriate group for your swimmer during the tryout and throughout the season.
Check the CALENDAR to keep up to date.
Swimmers must rinse off before getting in the pool.
Because of the recent energy crisis, the pool has limited showering at the facility. After practice swimmers rinse off before they enter the locker room, but not to shampoo their hair or wash.
No, the pool deck is closed to spectators during practice, which is common throughout Europe. On occasion, we are able to coordinate an open training session where parents can watch practice.
Throughout the season, opportunities to watch special events or volunteer on deck do pop up and are posted in the General Info channel on Slack. We can also arrange a tour of the facility on request.
There is a heated indoor space with a coffee machine and tables where parents can wait.
The Sea Dragons use Slack to push out information and for parents to get quick answers to questions. CONTACT US to get connected.
Yes, our team is completely run by volunteers! Parents can get involved in many ways from manning a bake sale booth, timing at swim meets, becoming an official, taking photographs, designing flyers, serving on the board or as a committee member, and much more. Depending on your availability, there are jobs large and small!
We require that each family complete 30 volunteer hours throughout the year. This support makes our home meets possible, outfits the team with new gear, and helps keep seasonal programs reasonably priced.
Yes, you may pay to swim during open hours. Swimmers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Parents are not permitted to watch from the pool deck
